Things can get out of hand, I know. 18 years ago I left 6 pounds 50 pence
with a vicar in Swallowfield (Bucks) with a promise from him that he would
search the birth records of the Parish Records when they came back into his
charge - there was a fairly valid reason as to why they were absent- and I
am still waiting!! I was silly and didn't take his address so never chased
him for it. Goodness knows what it would be worth today. Write it off as
experience I suppose, but what HE doesn't know is that I am coming back one
day!!
