I agree with all difficulties that Martin's listed. I find the most
frustrating part
when the registers have not been filmed, it is amazing what little extra's
can be
found that you never know about when you hire a researcher. Not due to any
fault of the researcher but just you are so familiar with your own research.

I find it difficult when the registers have been filmed, but as with most of
the
parishes in London being so huge, there is only 5 years of baptisms per
film.
This means ordering 4 films for 20 years of records (just one family) not to
mention the marriage and burials! Then have every line in a different
parish!

Then the number one difficulty - why wasn't I interested in this when I
lived in
England and was within an hour of the FRC, PRO, Guildhall, LMA and the
Westminster archives???

Obsessed??? Yes and I love it!
