Me yet again,
I was under the understanding that Banns were published for the 3 weeks prior
to a wedding.I have just recieved the Banns for my Moses MOODY and Sarah
HOLLAND hoping to find Moses birth origins.The DRO office says he was born
out of Exeter because there is no record of him.Yet on both the Banns and
marriage entry it says "both of this Parish"! I don't understand whats going
on.Plus now,to add to my confusion instead of clearing up this matter,Moses
and Sarahs Banns are for July and Aug.1772,but the marriage entry is for 11
Jan.1773.
Long past those 3 weeks.I am so puzzled! I am sad that I may have to put this
part of my research to bed,I see no way to move on.I
have not been able to locate Moses mothers name,which I'm sure could help me
from another angle,even find a researcher coming from that line.Below I
listed the names from the 2 pages of Banns I recieved with the dates they
were published.Sending to both Devon & London lists because I see,like
myself,people researching different areas.I also have 1 page of St.Sidwell
burials for 1785 that I will post soon.Hard to read...need the monacle and
the looking glass.
Hope these help someone! I will be scanning the original entries to
my web pages,available for viewing in 1-2 weeks,if you think you have found
