Hello Don

One of my ancestors left his daughter 10 pounds per year the capital to
be controlled by her brother. PROVIDED she remain celibate. I wonder how
they would police that. She got her own back, she left more than her
father, and left it to 3 young cousins and added "I declare that every
legacy to a married women shall be for her sole and separate use,
independently of her husband (if any) for the time being and of his
debts, control and engagements and that her receipt alone shall be
sufficient discharge.
