The simplest thing to do is to look in the GRO marriage indexes from
about 1905 onwards under FERRIS Ada -which is not a common name. If you
find an entry, you can check in the same year and quarter under Roberts,
and eventually you should find an entry which precisely matches the
reference data for her (district, volume and page number)
The alternative is getting the birth certificate for one of the
children (Alec, probably) which will give you the name of both parents,
then get the marriage certificate.
is this condescending? I thought it suited the level of the enquiry
fairly closely
