I would be most grateful if SKS could consult London Trade Directories 1837/1850 (or any between those dates) for a CHRISTIAN REIGER trading as a furrier, possibly St Lukes/Holborn area. He is my g x 3 grandfather and would appear to be German as I have discovered my g x 2 grandmother is listed on the 1851 census as being born in Germany. I'm trying to establish if he came over and stayed in England or was a travelling furrier! I have looked on the 1851/61/71 census St Lukes area but haven't come across the name Reiger and they are not listed in 1881. It appears that 2 daughters got married in 1850 (1 confirmed St Leonards Shoreditch, 1 in St Luke's to be confirmed as Register unfit for consultation).
