Is there anyone out there who can help me with this mystery?
Back in Nov 1986, I received an answer to my inquiry about shopkeepers
in the Clerkenwell area. It stated that ANN CRICK, butcher, was in
business at 104 John St. Clerkenwell. She was there in 1851 when the
number was 103 1/2. In 1864 it is 104 again and she is called CRICK, ANN
ELIZABETH. IN 1868, the number changes to 171 where it remains until
1873. In 1874, there is no longer an entry for ANN CRICK.
In the 1851 Census, there was an ANN CRICK, butcher, age 55, residing at
the above address.
I have a marriage certificate of THOMAS CRICK and ANN WRENN dated
06JUL1866 at St. James Clerkenwell.
I am hoping there is some connection here. TVM Albert Langford
