The (( word)) was used to show that this was entered and deleted or
corrected in the original. Sometimes what was entered first was right,
and the correction a mistake, so we were asked to include it, in case.
If the daughter is the older, then no problem, she was born before the
marriage and the son after. If the son is the older, then consider that
he is perhaps the child of a first marriage, and the daughter is the
child of a second wife, either really a step daughter, or born before
marriage and hence in the mother's name. Have you checked the birth
certificates of both children?
