My grandfather's sister married a two-surname gentleman and not until
discovering his descendants in Australia did I discover that in fact he had
used his original second name and added it to his surname. In fact ALL his
brothers (who did not originally share his second name of BRYDEN) who went to
Australia then adopted his second name as a surname too. The brothers who
stayed in England remained simply Mr Brown. On the 1881 Census they are all
simply titled BROWN.
