Thanks exactly what you have to do! According to Phillimore's Atlas and Index of Parish Registers, Finchley parish church records are deposited at the London Metropolitan Archives. Good luck.


Perhaps you have thrown a gleam of light on a very dark subject. I could find the names of the churches in Finchley in 1777 and then follow up on their PRs. It's worth a try. It does seem like there must be a record somewhere, especially since I have the exact date and place of birth. Grrrrrrrr.
