But, sadly, no-one will have told the registrars, clerks and clergy of ages
past, nor modern transcribers, so you can be certain that some of them will
appear in records and indexes as DAVY, DAVIES, DAVEY, DAVIES, and even worse
if the initial 'D' has been mis-read.:-(
