I have come across a book entitled "Dearest Beatie, My Darling Jack:A
Victorian Couple's Love Letters" printed by Willow Books, Grafton St.,
London, in l983.
This book covers the lives of John Albert HUGHES who was born in Castle
Bromwich near Birmingham on ll.5. l870 and his wife Beatrice Catherine
MERCER, born 28.9.l870 in London. They marrried on l2th April l899 at
St. Albans Church, Streatham (south London).

As the book was printed l9 years ago it may well be that current
researchers of these families may not know of the existence of it.
