I looked at from 1849 to 1854 for Births
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl
which is transcription - still on going of Civil Registration
and could see no Edwin JAMES in London which I presume is what Middx City
means ......
I searched for E JAMES in case first name was not in full.
All were well outside of London area

> Hello to all Londoners, I am trying to trace my Greatgrandfather. Edwin
JAMES.. According to the 1881 Census he was 29 therefore born in c1852. His
place of birth is given as Middx City, Middlesex, England.
> I have checked the fiche at the LDS for 1851,!852 & 1853 but could find no
reference to an Edwin born in Middx City ( there were plenty of other Edwins
born elsewhere)
> My question is. Is there another name for Middx City in 1852 that I
should be looking at???
> Thanking you all in anticipation Joyce Hooker (neeJAMES) in Canada
