no, there is no such thing as a free lunch, but for various reasons newbies
dont always know how to ask the question in the right way.
London list is full of excellent, knowledgeable people but is the
unfriendliest list I know. Especially to newbies.
I have suffered the same non responses as Peg on a question I am really
stuck on. I could not have been more precise in my asking, but not one
response of any offer of even a simple idea.I too am unsubscribing, because
I have been totally put off by some of the attitudes.
Please try and remember not everyone is able to put questions in the way you
would like, or understand how to go about some of these things, and there
really is a holier than thou attitude here, making people very uncomfortable
about ever writing again.
No-one was asking you to do their research for them(that was most certainly
a holier than thou attitude John), but I can take a bet with myself that you
asked the same type questions when starting your research.
Thank you to the one lister who has ever answered me, and good luck everyone
in your search for those elusive ancestors.
Lin
