Just had a successful session with the census, but you do have to be
creative. Many, many errors in transcription. I would suggest going to
the original page (yes you do get the whole page) trying to figure it
out yourself is far superior to reading what someone thought it said.
What seems clear to me, in many cases, obviously wasn't to the
transcriber. Many of my McMAHON folks have become MacMAHON or MAHON,
even though very clearly written as McMAHON on the original. Also place
names; I have Slindon Sussex as Swindon, Hendon and Shendon so far,
again very clearly written on the original.
Be creative and you'll have some luck, by the way set your money limit
according to the costs - £5.00 limit only allows £4.60 of images, at 75p
each (clever way to make a profit!) doesn't seem to be any way of adding
to the pot, you have to start a new session and forfeit you 40p.
