Neil,

The quickest way that I know of is to use the floppy backups that you
already do (don't you?!). If you don't currently have any, just put a floppy
in your old machine, open the programme and click on File, backup. You will
need to do this for each data set you have, i.e I have about 10 different
data sets for the 10 different trees that I research. However it takes no
more than a few minutes for each one. If your data is larger than a floppy,
don't worry as it will tell you to insert the next floppy and continue to
save. However as it only saves your data, not the programme itself, it
should not be too large.
Then using your original CD, set up the programme on your new PC, Open the
programme and click on File, Restore. Put your floppy into the new PC and
click on the file/s you wish to restore.

I have followed this process when changing the last 3 PC's and had no
problems. However if you do get a problem e-mail the company
www.whollygenes.com and ask them, I have always found them very helpful and
very quick to reply.
Don't forget to make a note of your version number and your serial number
from your old programme, as you will probably need it when setting up the
registration on the new one, and will definitely need it if contacting the
company.
By the way, even on the new machine you will still have to do backups with
floppies as TMG cannot do CD backups, even with the latest version just out.
Hope this helps.
