Hello,

Is 'Vilger' perhaps an abbreviation, one hastily made up to allow the entry
to fit into space available? I notice that it is 2 letters short of being
'Villager', and without them, still would would have almost identical
pronunciation.

For another possibility, I have often seen flossy capitals greatly misread
in many transcriptions of badly handwritten documents (examples: Hannah
transcribed as 'Egma', Zina transcribed simply as 'F'. Substituting other
letters in place of the 'V' produces one word that might possibly be an
occupation - 'Bilger'.

Just a few thoughts....
