In the early years of registration, some registrars put the time on
certificates as a matter of course, even if it was a single birth.
I was in exactly the same position as you - my gg grandad's birth cert. had
a time of birth, but I hadn't found another child of the same age, so I
phoned the register office, explained the situation & a very helpful young
man took my number & called me back to say he'd had a look & there hadn't
been a multiple birth. The registrar was just very thorough !

precise time of birth on a birth certificate. I have never had it happen
before, but now that it has I seem to remember years ago someone mentioning
that on the birth certificates of twins, the exact time of birth is stated.
