Hi,
Posting our major brickwall in the hope that someone can help guide us where
to go from here. Living in Oz we would love to get access to English Church
records. This is what we have so far:
George WILLIAMS born c 1760 England (printer) arrived OZ 1814 on the
"Broxbornebury" as a free settler. (Place of Birth unverified)
Travelling with him his wife MARY born c 1765s - buried as Mary HUGHES
WILLIAMS (1828) in Botany Pioneers Cemetery, Sydney
And three sons: Edward L. NORTH HUNT (c. 26 June1792 St Leonards,
Shoreditch, London)
Frederick NORTH HUNT (c. 1799 St Leonards,
Shoreditch, London)
and Vincent GEORGE WILLIAMS (Born London, London,
England 1804) - parents George Williams and Mary HUGHES
[Reference in a Supreme Court Document 1843 that the above were half
brothers]
MARY ??????????
Edward and Frederick HUNT were the sons of
Charles NORTH HUNT [2]c. 22 August 1765 St Andrews, Holborn, LONDON, England
(attorney - son of Charles Hunt and Henrietta Ford) and MARY PLACE. We
have been unable to trace Mary Place.
There were also other children of this marriage:
Charles NORTH HUNT [3] c 9th December 1787
(Saint Pauls Convent Garden, Westminster, London, England) Attorney - Hadlow
Place/Burton Crescent, Middlesex married Elizabeth Charlotte Wright)
Parents: Charles North Hunt and Mary ???
Charles NORTH HUNT [4] b 1802 London, London,
England; Parents Charles North Hunt and Mary Place
If Mary Williams was Mary PLACE where did the HUGHES come from??????
We have found a MARY married to a CHARLES NORTH HUNT HUGHES. Was this Mary
PLACE???
They had a son: Thomas Maxwell HUGHES 22 Sept 1789 St Andrews, HOLBORN,
LONDON, ENGLAND. (possibly became a minister - we have a reference to a Rev.
Thomas Maxwell HUNT in Charles North HUNT's [3] will)
Also, we have a Mary PLACE married to a CHARLES HUNT arriving in OZ in 1822
on the "Almorrah" - husband Charles HUNT a convict transported on the
"Dorothy"
Is anyone researching this family? HELP!!!!!!!
Regards,
Annie
