He may have attracted an obituary in one of the broadsheet papers - Times,
Daily Telgraph, Independent, or Guardian, or local paper - the Hampstead &
Highgate (cannot remember if it is Journal or Gazette or???).
A death notice with details of funeral arrangements may have been placed
with one or more of the above papers.
The undertaker will have retained records, and was probably local to the
address.
St.Pancras Cemetery, with Islington Cemetery and Crematorium adjoining, are
all still functioning
(High Road,Finchley).
See websites for London Borough of Camden & L.B.of Islington.
Was he Jewish or R.C.?
Londoners seem to be notoriously fickle with choce of Cemetery - where was
his wife, or parents, or earlier family buried/cremated.
Occasionally deceased may end up in spare space in a family grave miles from
usual abode/place of death.
HTH
Cheers
