Hi again,
Thanks to everyone who helped me with my CLARK family. The outcome has been
confusing to say the least and I need to do more research but here is what
was found for those who are interested.
On the 1891 Census, the family is as follows, living next door to Alice's
future husband, Harvey WALKER.
RG12/ 159 folio 40
16,Aberdean Place Islington
John Clark - head - mar -56y sawyer b. Huttoft Lincolnshire
Louisa Clark - wife - mar - 49y - box maker b. Raithby Lincolnshire
Lydia L Clark- dau - s - 18 y -paper box maker - b. London Islington
Frances Clark-dau - s -16y - paper box maker - b. London Islington
Jno Wm Clark- son -s - 15y - ?angaurd - b. London Islington
Alice Beat Clark - dau -s- 11y - scholar - b. London Islington
Jane Clark - dau - s - 9y - scholar - b. London Islington
However on the 1881, the family is down with a different surname and head of
household, but still is definately the same family (apart from the father):
3G Beaconsfield Buildings, Islington
George GOLDING, age 36, born Lincoln, Sawyer
Louisa GOLDING, age 39, born Lincoln, Fancy Box Maker
Lydia L. GOLDING, dau, age 8, born Islington
Frances A. GOLDING, dau, age 6, born Islington
John W. GOLDING, son, age 5, born Islington
Alice B. GOLDING, dau, age 1, born Islington
Rose A. CLARK, sister-in-law, unmarried, age 33, born Lincoln, Laundress
I found on FreeBMD births for:
1873, GOLDRING, Lydia Louisa; Islington
1874, GOLDRING, Frances Amelia; Islington
1881, GOLDRING, Jane Clark; Islington
So now I am going to try and find Alice under the surname GOLDRING and get
the birth certificate and see what it can tell me.
Thanks again for everyone's help,
Greg
