My gggrandmother Elizabeth MARTIN is shown twice on the IGI.

The first shows a birth date in 1816 at Lessness Heath Baptist, Erith
(parents Ebenezer and Mary)and the second is a baptism in 1825 at the parish
church of St John's Erith (same parents). Another sister, was also baptised
at the same time on the second date.

Both records are "Extracted birth or christening record for the locality
listed in the record." with 'C' prefix batch numbers

I know that she was born in 1816, so this isn't a second child who has been
given the same name.

Does anyone know what the reason for two entries for the same person would
be?

Regards,
Diane
