Hello all

I am particularly interested in finding any missing census info (stated
where missing) and of course, whether anyone has any connections.

Trying to find further info on the following names:


QUAINTANCE
Any - Clapham, Battersea area from 1880s onwards

STAGG Area - North Kensington (after 1845), Willesden (about 1901
onwards)

Thomas Stagg was born abt 1845 at North Kensington, London, England. He
had a total of poss 14 children (7b and 7g). Thomas married Elizabeth ?
Thomas had a daughter Ruth Stagg abt 1861 in London. Died 1918, Thomas
had a daughter Esther R Stagg there abt 1862. Died 1953 in Hastings.
Thomas had a daughter Elizabeth Stagg at Kensington, London in 1870
(poss Q4), Thomas had a son William Stagg in 1875 at North Kensington.
Thomas had a son Jack Stagg poss in 1880, in London.
Thomas could not be found on the census of 1881.
He had a daughter Maria Stagg in 1883 at North Kensington. Thomas
possible had a son Walter Stagg possibly in 1884, in London. Died 1917.
Thomas had a daughter Harriett Stagg at North Kensington in 1886.
Thomas had a son John Alfred (Alf) "Pop" Stagg there on 21 April 1888.
Died 1966. Had 4 sons, between 1911 and 1922, John Alfred, Charles,
Bill and Tom
Thomas had a son Christopher Stagg there on 14 December 1890. Died 1982
Thomas could not be found on the census of 1891.
He had a daughter May Stagg in 1894 at North Kensington. Thomas had a
daughter Polly Stagg there in 1897.
He appeared on the census of 1901 at 34 Greyhound Road, Willesden,
London working as a bricklayers labourer.
He was employed as a gardener abt 1911 in London. He died at Willesden,
London probably abt 1914.


TILLETT Area: Marylebone (1870s to 1901)

William Benjamin Tillett was born between 1844 & 1847 at Norwich,
Norfolk
Possibility that William had married twice. Mother of Annie was Emily
Elizabeth (Emma) Harris (formerly Hinkley b1853)
William had a son William Tillett in 1877 at Marylebone. William had a
daughter Ann (Isabella) Tillett in 1882 there. William had a son Albert
Tillett there in 1886. born at beginning of the year
He had a daughter Annie Louisa Tillett at 17 Spring Street, Marylebone,
on 20 November 1888. Married John Alfred Stagg
William appeared on the census of 1891 29 Newham Street, Marylebone,
employed as a house painter.
He appeared on the census of 1901 at 1 Watsons Mews, Marylebone, as a
general labourer .He was employed as a decorator there abt 1911.


BISHOP Area- St Pancras/Somers Town (1846 to late 1870s), Marylebone
(1880s and 1890s), Hammersmith (after 1901)

William Bishop was born in 1846 at St Pancras, London, England. He
married Harriett Humphries between 1864 & 1866.
William was employed as a School Master abt 1867 by Perry St School,
Somers Town, St Pancras.
He had a son Ernest William Bishop on 19 September 1867 at Perry Street
School, Somers Town.
William had a daughter Rose Bishop in 1870 at St Pancras. William had a
son William Bishop there in 1871. William had a son George Bishop there
in 1872.
William had a daughter Emiline Bishop there in 1874. William had a
daughter Lily Bishop there in 1876. William had a daughter Florence
Bishop there in 1878.
William had a daughter Grace Bishop in 1880 at Marylebone, London (died
1885).
William was employed as a School Master and caretaker between 1880 &
1892 by Barrett Street School, 8-13 Barrett St. Marylebone, London.
He had a son Arthur Bishop in 1882 at Marylebone. William had a daughter
Edith Bishop there in 1884.
William was working as a School Master in 1901 by Ellerslie Road School,
Hammersmith, London when that years census was taken.

Ernest William Bishop, son of William and Harriett (Humphries) Bishop,
was born in 1867 at Somers Town. (cannot find on 1881 census). He
married Rosa Ann Langford on 25 December 1887 at St Pauls Church, St
Andrews the Less, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. Witnesses: Edwin
Charles Langford. Ernest was employed as a glazier (stained glass).
Ernest had a son William (Bill) Bishop in 1888 at Cambridge.
He had a son Alfred Bishop in 1890 (3Q) in Croydon, Surrey.
Ernest appeared on the census of 1891 at 22 Giles/Filey Road, St Giles,
Reading, Berkshire, England.
He had a son John (Jack) Bishop in 1896 at Kensington?, London. Ernest
had a daughter Florence Bishop in 1898 (Q1) at Kensington, London. Died
in New Zealand
Ernest had a daughter Edith Beatrice Clara Bishop almost certainly on 4
August 1900, in London.
Ernest appeared on the census of 1901 at 44 Carthew Road, Hammersmith,
London.
He had a daughter Winifred Grace Bishop on 8 March 1903 at 25 Golborne
Gardens, London.
Ernest had a son Albert Bishop on 30 June 1906 at Willesden, London.
Ernest died bef 1943. Whereabouts unknown from about 1908.



SNOWSHALL or SNOWSHILL Area- Willesden (1850s), North Kensington
(1870s onwards)

John Thomas Snowshill (Snowshall), son of William and Elizabeth (Miller)
Snowshill, was born on 27 April 1857 at Kilburn Lane, Willesden, London,
England. He married Catherine Carew bef 1878. John was employed as a
Labourer in London.
He had a son Edward Snowshall at Kensington, London abt 1878.
John had a daughter M (Catherine or Kate?) Snowshall perhaps in 1881.
Family could not be found on the census of 1881
John had a son William R Snowshall on 22 July 1883 at 13 Treverton
Street, Kensington, London.
John had a daughter Emily Snowshall at Kensington in 1886.
John had a daughter Louise Snowshall in 1890.
John married Emily ? before 1891 in London. John appeared on the census
of 1891 at Bramstone Road, Kensington, London.
John died possibly in 1891, in London.
Family could not be found on the census of 1901

Emily possibly remarried a Mr Hollick/Olick. The other name that occurs
in connection is Hammond.



SOUTHGATE Area- Westminster (many births registered in St George
Hanover Sq) (after 1834)

Robert Southgate was born in 1834 at Westminster, London, England. He
married Ellen Wilson abt 1858 in London.
Robert had a son Robert Southgate at 6 Great Peter Street, Westminster,
London on 28 December 1864.
Robert had a son James Southgate in 1867 at Westminster.
Robert had a daughter Sarah Southgate there in 1871.
He appeared on the census of 1881 at 4 Lanes Cottages, Westminster,
London working as a labourer scavenger . Niece, Ellen Boyd living with
them
Robert was working as a road sweeper for vestry in 1891 in London. He
died of diphtheria at 4 Lanes Cottages, Romney Street, Westminster,
London on 18 August 1891.

Robert Southgate, son of Robert and Ellen (Wilson) Southgate, was born
in 1864
He appeared on the census of 1881 at 4 Lanes Cottages, Westminster,
London working as a labourer scavenger .
He married Maria Leaver on 12 July 1886 at St Marys Lambeth, London, who
died (possibly) just after WW1
Robert had a son Robert Southgate in 1887 at Westminster, London. Robert
had a daughter Maria Southgate there in 1888.
He appeared on the census of 1891 at 3 Carpenter Street, Westminster,
London working as a general labourer .
He had a daughter Annie Southgate in 1893 at Westminster. Robert had a
son William Southgate there in 1895. Robert had a son James Robert
Southgate there abt October 1898. He had a daughter Ellen Southgate at
Westminster in January 1901.
Robert appeared on the census of 1901 at 1 Great College Street,
Westminster, London working as a dustman .
He had a son Dick Southgate about 1905 at Westminster. He had a son
Henry Southgate on 22 May 1907 at 8 Romney Street, Westminster, London.
Robert was then employed as a carman by the city council, Robert had a
son Thomas (Tom) Southgate in 1909 in London.
Robert died there possibly 1924.

Annie used to work at the Houses of Parliament (waitress) and some of
her other siblings were boilermen there.
