Marjorie, The Queen Charlotte's Lying In hospital was in the Marylebone
Road at this time. It admitted both single and married women.
The certificate would normally say the name of the father if he
acknowledged the child. If not, the space for the father would be
blank.
You could try sending for the certificate without the GRO reference,
since you have the date of birth. Then you might find out who the
father was.
