Hi List:
Just dragged myself away from the Time's archive to say thank you to
everyone who answered my request for the 1851 lookup.
From the response I have found that my HARRISES may have sprung from
Hertfordshire - this is very exciting for me because it means my grandmother
wasn't fooling around with her husband's best friend - long story...
However, I wonder, if anyone has time, if they could look up the 1841 census
for another HARRIS who lived round the corner from William in 1841?
Mary Harris, Licensed Victualler, Nags Head, 102 Borough High Street.
John Harris, is possibly there too. That would be her husband!
Don't have an age for them except around 50years.
I think this may be William's mum - dad John dropped out of the picture
around 1841 so I assume he's dead or run off with the barmaid!
