In my previous message I referred to 'the 100 year rule'. Having now had the
opportunity to read more of the recently published details, I see the
original proposals have been relaxed. For Birth registrations, the
restricted items will remain unavailable to the general public for 75 years
after the birth. For Deaths, the restrictions are proosed for 25 years after
the death. So, on the introduction of the changes it seems that we will have
full Death registration details for all deaths before about 1980.

So, in the meantime, concentrate on getting certificates for recent events.
