Hi John,

The only thing relevant that Google came up with was
http://www.victorianlondon.org/dickens/dickens-charities.htm which is just a
list of charities with addresses &c. It doesn't appear say much but it
might help.

Subject: [Lon] Homes of Hope

I have established that my rellie was born in an establishment called Homes
of Hope in Regents Square near Grays Inn Road and that it was also traded
as
"Betrayed".

It had an entry in the Post Office Directory in 1860 but seems to have gone
before 1930, my rellie having been born there in 1911.

( Homes of Hope; 1860; 4,5 & 6, Regent Square, Gray's Inn Road, W.C.; For
the restoration of the first fallen and the protection of friendless,
young
women )

I am still trying to find out who ran the home, was it a stand alone
charity
or was it run by one of the established churches. It was not a Barbados I
know.

Its Secretary at one time was an C.M. Hornibrook.

Does any of this ring any bells for anyone on the list.
