Herefordshire remained Herefordshire all through the 19th century. The only
major change in its status was in the reorganizations of a few years back
when for a while it joined with Worcestershire to form the county of
Hereford and Worcester. It is now Herefordshire again.
I suggest that you search under Hertfordshire: US transcribers are notorious
for mixing up the two counties!
One point you must bear in mind is that Registration Districts do not follow
County boundaries, so you can find Hereford events registered outside the
county. For example, BMDs for the area around Brimfield, Little Hereford and
Middleton were registered in Tenbury, Worcestershire.
