Hello Eve,
Did I say that he was involved as a cloth picker - I only quoted references
as to what an occupation of a Picker would do, I did not specifically say
that he was involved in the weaving or clothing business but I suggested
that a Picker could be employed in various trades that were quoted in
different references.
After doing a Google search, I could not find an Occupation of "Picker
Ganger" .
All I could find was the trades I mentioned, and the reference to a Ganger.
- GANGER - overseer or foreman from 1850 onwards
In reference to the question asked by Jenny as to " What is a Picker Ganger?
I replied that "A PICKER GANGER" would be the supervisor/Foreman of the
Picking Gang.
Thank you, Eve, I will take into account what you have stated about the
textile industry in any future correspondence.

The only problem as far as textiles are concerned is that the foremen
were called Lookers and overlookers, and the hands didn';t work in
gangs.
