Hi Jenny
There's been a lot of discussion of 'missing' people in the 1861 census. I
would suggest searching through the archives - more than likely you'll find
a few suggestions there as to how to track them down.
Good luck
Andy

Has anyone any idea why I can't find the people I'm looking for? I have a
Thomas Hills who died in 1869 in Ashford, Kent and who had 6 sons and I
cannot find any of them. I could understand it if one or even two were
missing, but I haven't found any of the 8 families I know lived in Kent at
that time. Any suggestions would be very nice to receive. Thank you,
Jenny
