Hi Chris,
The odd small extra clue might help us help you.
Does the "circa 1850s" mean that you think she was born around that period?
Do you have any location ideas at all?
Did she marry?
Otherwise it unfortunately looks as though you are in for a long plod
through the 1861, 1871 and 1881 census index records (you can look at the
indices for free on www.ancestry.co.uk ) You would need to note down every
Ada Rogers you found and then look for any matching patterns across the 3
censuses.
For instance there were 26 in the 1861 census - but that's assuming that her
first name was Ada - if it was her second, then there are a few dozen more.
