I just received the death certificates of my great-great grandparents, James
Gambier Burn and Sarah Ann Shervill. Both were from weaver families in
Bethnal Green and Spitalsfield. Both were forced out in the mid-19th century
as the industry collapsed and ended their respective working lives, James in
1881 and Sarah Ann in 1899, as "church keepers". Both died of bronchitis. Is
this just coincidence or were weaver families more susceptible to this
condition? Anyone have any ideas?
God Bless
John Paul
