Does anyone else on the list have any connection or interest in St Andrew
Undershaft?

My parents were married there in 1937 and I was christened there a couple of
years later. My father had been a choirboy there since his teens and had
enormous regard for their choirmaster, William (Bill) Ballard. I have no
idea how Dad came to be involved in that parish as he was born and brought
up in Millwall, and as he died not many years after we came to NZ when I was
a child I never got around to asking him. I have contacted the present
administrators of the parish to ask whether a history had been published or
whether there are any records or photos of the choir of the period when Dad
was a member but there is nothing that they know of. When I tried to visit
the church in 1993 it was closed while under repair from the Bishopsgate
bombings.

If anyone has any info at all I'd be delighted to hear from you.

Ann C Best, Wellington, NZ

My Dad was from the Isle of Dogs and I was born in Barking.
