Hi Mike, Thank you for coming in on this, and for telling the Old Bailey
they had it wrong!
I did wonder where Field Lane was in their map, but I thought maybe it had
gone between 1794 and 1827.
And thank you very much for your map suggestion, Ron. It is great, and I
found Shoe Lane where she pawned the stolen goods is still there, even on my
little tourist map of London!
She was very convenient for Newgate prison, and the Old Bailey, wasn't she?
Now, is there someone who can tell me what is now on the site where she
lived?
Thank you for the wonderful help so far, and your efforts beyond the call of
duty, Mike!

George's alley, Field Lane, St Andrews Holborn is not in the Upper
Thames Street area. Field Lane ran south from Saffron Hill, south of
Charles Street (modern day Greville Street), and as far as Holborn
Hill. That puts it firmly in the parish of St Andrew, Holborn.
For a modern map see this link:

If you locate Farringdon Road running north to south. Saffron Hill is
just to the west. The section between Greville Street and
Charterhouse Street was Field Lane.
Now go to the 1862 map recommended by Ron via this link:
<http://www.mappalondon.com/london/north-east/clerkenwell.jpg>
In 1862 Farringdon Road is Victoria Street. Just to the west you will
find Saffron Hill and Field Lane. George's Alley is shown about half
way down Field Lane.
Hope this helps
