Information would be appreciated of the following
individual including ancestors and descendants:

1490: Will of Thomas Bulkeley of Greenwich (London)
and Sandwich (Kent)
(P.C.C.)

(1) Wife Denise.
(2) Wife Agnes Grey (died 1523 Lambeth) Will (P.C.C.)

Thomas, in his will, was very concerned about the
welfare of his soul, and made many provisions thereof:

" Body to be carried from Sandwich (to Woolwich 60
miles!) in procession accompanied by friars, 4
priests, and a clerk, with children riding and singing
by their side, and with 8 torches to light them when
they passed through a town. This was to continue to
Canterbury, and from there to Bulkley's chosen place
of burial in Woolwich, where they were to be met by 16
poor men from London bearing tapers and torches"

And very much more!

1457-1490: Thomas Bulkeley was employed as Kent County
Escheator, in Commissions regarding king's property in
many Counties, Collector of Fees (many Counties),
Collector duties/customs Sandwich, appointed to
commandeer three boats for Kent's defense.

Thomas Bulkeley was probably born sometime 1430-1440.
I have had no success in establishing his ancestors or
descendants.

Paul Bulkley
