I see from my London maps that the Grand Union Canal is not very far from
the Kilburn area where the HOY family lived.
Can anyone tell me where this flows into please and therefore where I might
look for a death registration?
Strictly speaking, as it is a canal it doesn't flow anywhere so wherever a body is found then that is where the person is likely to have fallen in, or have been pushed in.
That part of the GU is the Paddington Arm which runs from Bulls Bridge (Hayes) to Little Venice (Paddington). It connects at Bulls Bridge to the Main Line from Brentford to Birmingham and at Little Venice it connects to the Regents Canal which heads down towards Limehouse.
It may be of use to note that at its nearest point to Kilburn the canal runs past Kensal Green cemetery which, from what I seem to remember is (or was) a notorious spot for drownings.
