You mentioned in your response to Lorna about her missing nan the following:

'An abandoned child would probably be adopted (if under 21 on or after 1927)
and would get a birth certificate then.'

I am also looking for someone who married several times and always used her
previous husband as her father. She died in 1967 in London. She says she
was born 29 Mar 1911, place unknown and we do not know her name at birth,
she also used different names during her lifetime.

My question pertains to the adoption of an abandoned child ... what dates
would be on the birth certificate produced on adoption? Where would these
records be?
