Apologies previous email sent prematurely should read :-

Hi listers

My 3 x great grandfather Joseph LONGDON died by drowning in about July or August 1834. This information came from his burial record for 12th August 1834 and he was interred in a pauper's grave. The parish or Poor Law Union record states " Woolwich St Mary Magdalene" and that there was a coroners warrant? concerning his death. The borough given is Greenwich.

I understand that the coroners report may no longer be available however I wondered if there may be a newspaper report on this death anywhere? I tried a search on the British Library site but no luck.

Can anyone please advise where I might find records of this tragedy as not sure if it comes under London or Kent jurisdiction.

Many thanks
