Tom, the only choice you have is to stay at the Belmont Inn on the town square
in Abbeville. call them quick for a reservation. This timne of year, you aint
gonna find many empty rooms there. If they are full stay at the B& B's, one is
Abbewood. The Courthouse with Richardson estates is accross the street from
the Belmont, where your cuzzins will welcome you. Down the street in walking
distance is the Abbeville Libeerry, which has good stuff, but the Greenwood
Liberry 20 miles away has better.
The closest thing we have to a genealogical Liberry is in Edgefield, on the
square.
Your Hill- Richardsons may have lived in Edgefield a while before moving into
Abbeville. When you find your grandma Hill [my aunt Miss Hill] who married a
Richardson, get back with me. It are a large gfamily and somewhut confusing.
By all means visit the Confederacy house that just opened up in Abbeville. A.
