DESCENDANCY

1. ISOM^1 LOONEY, son of BENJAMIN LOONEY and of
MARY JOHNSON, born 26 Oct 1775 WASHINGTON, VA;
died 1852 DADE, MO; buried DADE, MO.
He was married 1796, TN to ANNIE LITTLEFOOT.

Isom was born on October 26, 1775 in Washington
County, Virginia (now Hawkins County,Tn)
Isom was under age on Dec. 16, 1763, when Walter
Johnson, guardian for Isom, Robert and Absalom
Looney, made answer to the suit by William Gardner
against their mother Mary, widow of Benjamin Looney.
Isom married Annie about 1796 and they had 11
children.
On May 29, 1797 Isom was a witness when Alexander
Martin deeded Land to Isom's brother John Looney.
On August 10, 1802 deeded 92 acres to his older
brother Jesse Looney both of Hawkins Co., Tn.
On September 9, 1809 Isom deeded 188 acres to his
youngest brother Absalom Looney.
Isom was listed in Capt. McCoy's Company in 1809
with 1 white poll and 72 acres of land.
On Feb. 1809 Isom witnessed the will of Andrew
Forgey.
Isom was a juror in 1812.
With his brother John, Isom signed a petition in
October of 1813 for correction of an error in the land
grant No. 180 by North Carolina to their father Benjamin
Looney dated October 12, 1783.(Virginia and North
Carolina claimed some of the same land which later became
part of Tennessee.)
Tennessee Land Grant No. 3345 dated March 31,
1815, shows Isom Looney on 12 Sept. 1812 entered 100
acres on the headwaters of Big Creek in Stanley Valley.
Isom was in Jackson Co., Alabama according to the
1830 cenus.
Isom received $10.00 according to his mother's
will dated 20 Nov 1830.
On July 16, 1830 Isom paid cash for 80 acres of
goverment land in Jackson County, Alabama section 21,
Township 1, Range 7 East.
Isom purchased 80.33 Acres in Madison County,
Alabama on 21 Dec 1830.
On November 11, 1831 Isom Looney of Jackson
County, Alabama deeded 172 acres in Stanley Valley to
James Johnson of Hawkins County, Tennesse.
By 1840 Isom and family were in Greene County,
Missouri.
In the 1850 enus Isom moved his family to St.Clair
County, Missouri.
Isom died in Dade County, Missouri about 1852.
He made a will in St. Clair County, Missouri.
Jesse Looney was appointeed admistrator. Isom
had willed $100 to Allen Looney and Jesse had required
Allen to make bond dated 15 March 1852 agreeing to
assume his share of any debts that might be established
against the estate.
Annie was born October 27, 1780 in Tennesse. She
was a Chickasaw Indian.

ELIZABETH BLEDSOE.
Allen was born July 17, 1798 in Hawkins Co, Tn.
In 1819 Allen and his brothers William J. and
Benjamin
were living on Indian lands and signed a petition
protesting their removal. They probaly lived in what
became Jackson Co., Al.
Allen Married Elizabeth Bledsole on
August 15, 1822 and they had 8 children.
Allen Looney purchased 80.33 acres in Madison Co.,
Alabama on July 16, 1830.
Allen bought 80 acres from John Stewart in Jackson
Co., Alabama on October 11, 1831.
Allen and family moved to Missouri in 1837. By 1840
in Greene County, Missouri.
On November 18, 1852 Allen bought 80 acres
from B. A. James and Polly Ann James for $275.
Allen sold 75 acres to his son John F. Looney for
$200 on April 9, 1858.
Allen died August 8, 1872 in Greene County,
Missouri.
Elizabeth is 1/2 Chickasaw Indian.

HAWKINS, TN. He was married MARY UNKNOWN.
William was born September 15, 1800 in Hawkins Co,
Tn.
In 1819 Wiilliam signed a petition protesting the
removal of the Indians. He probaly lived in what became
Jakson County, Alabama.
William married Mary ??? and had at least 3 children.
William was listed in the 1830 census in Jackson County,
Alabama.
This is all that is known of william at this time.

RUYLE.

5. BENJAMIN^2 LOONEY, (ISOM^1), born 5 Nov 1804 HAWKINS,
TN; died 30 Aug 1837 JACKSON, AL; buried JACKSON, AL.
He was married about 1834, to SAMANTHA HOLDER, daughter
of BLEDSOLE HOLDER and of ELIZABETH ANN STEWART.
Benjamin was born November 5, 1804 in Hawkins Co.,
Tennesse.
Benjamin married Samantha Holder in 1834 and they
had 2 Children.
Benjamin died in 1837 in Jackson Co., Alabama.
Samantha was 1/4 Chickasaw Indian she was born in
1818 in Alabama or Tennesse.
She married Benjamin Looney about 1834 and they had
2 children.
In August of 1837 Benjamin died of possible heat
stroke.
Not long after the Cherokees started their march of
the Trail of Tears. Samantha joined them on the Northern
Trail which went from Alabama to Tennesse, Kentucky,
Missouri and into Northwest Arkansas, before ending up
in Indian Territory. They started the trip in the fall
of the year it lasted through the winter and into the
spring. There was a very bad winter that year many died
of starvation, diease and the weather.
Samantha carried her youngest child William
January Looney in a basket and covered him with wool.
They left the Cherokee in Northwest Arkansas and went
Greene County, Missouri. She later married John Looney
after the death of his first wife Elizabeth (Littleton)
Looney in 1844. See John Colbert Samantha's Great
Grandfather for more on the Trail of Tears.

Jesse was born Jan. 27, 1807 Hawkins County, Tenn.
Jesse Looney purchased 40.7 acres in Madison Co.,
Al. on 21 Oct 1833.
Jesse Looney purchased 40.34 acres in Madison Co.,
Al. on 13 Feb 1837.
Jesse married Polly ??? sometime in the 1830's
and had 10 children.
By 1840 Jesse and family had moved to Greene Co,
Missouri.
In 1850 and 1860 cenus Jesse and family were
living in St. Clair County, Missouri.
Jesse purchased 40 acres in St. Clair County,
Missouri from his brother John Looney for $50.

HAWKINS, TN. He was married 1834, AL to
REBECCA SALLY UNKNOWN.
John was born December 1, 1807 in Hawkins Co,
Tennesse.
The 1830 census shows John living in Jackson
County, Alabama.
John married Rebecca Sally ??? in 1834 in Alabama
and they had 5 children.
In the 1840 cenus John and family were listed in
Polk County, Missouri.
They moved to St. Clair County, Missouri by
the 1850 Cenus.
On March 16, 1849 John purchased 240 acres for
$200 on Osage River in St. Clair County from
Cidney C. Dean.
On January 23, 1852 John sold 3 tracts of land
to John R. Earnest.

Children of JOHN C.^2 and REBECCA SALLY (UNKNOWN) LOONEY
were as follows:

12. JANIBUS JANIAH^2 LOONEY, (ISOM^1), born 19 Sep 1828AL.
Janiah was born September 19, 1828 in Alabama.
By 1840 they moved to Greene County, Missouri and
in St. Clair County, Missouri in 1850.
On December 2, 1850, after the death of Isom Looney,
Janiah Looney purchased from his older brother John C.
Looney for $400 all rights and interest that John C.
Looney was entitled to from the estate of their father,
both real and personal property.
Janiah Looney was a witness in April of 1856 when
his nephew Matthew T. Looney married Senah Davis.
No further information is known on Janiah Looney.
