I have been trying for some time to locate a marriage record in
Worcester, Co. and am beginning to think that it may not exist. I am
searching for a date for the marriage of Littleton T. Ruark to Martha
(nickname Patsy) Shockley in about 1828. I am about 90% certain that the
marriage would have taken place in Worcester, MD. I have searched every
published index of marriage records I could find. Are there other
sources--unpublished records, or small church records--that I mights try?
Would newspapers of that time record marriages, or is it more likely that
no records were kept?

Am fairly new to Maryland research, so any help or advice would be
greatly appreciated.
