Hi LDRooters,

Once again, I'm forwarding a message I received from someone who visited
my "Eastern Shore Genealogy Project" site and sent me an inquiry.

I'm not able to link his WAINWRIGHT family into my own, but the other,
related surnames (ie ROBERTSON) he mentions makes me wonder, as he does,
whether his NC Wainwrights may have come from MD's Eastern Shore.

Please give his note a look, and see if you may have any info for him.
If you do, please let ME know, as well.

Thanks!

Shari,
I emailed you recently about my Wainright family and its ties to the
Robertson family. These families moved together from NC to GA in the
early 1800s. The tradition is that my Wainright family originated in New
England, like the Wainwright family tradition listed on your web
site(stating that they may have come from Massachusetts). Your listing
of Wainwrights and Robertsons got me interested in looking into Somerset
County(Wicomico) data in hopes that I can find the ancestors of my James
W. Wainwright(b. before 1760) of Pitt County, NC.

Anyway, I am emailing you again concerning the Joshua Wainwright
Graveyard listing. The listing of John HAYWARD piqued my interest. I
have been looking for clues within the middle names of some of my
Wainrights. One of them is William Robertson Wainright and I have
succesfully determined that he was indeed named after Robertsons who
migrated with them. I also have a Vernon Hayward Wainright(b. 1910) that
I have been looking at. He was my grandfather's brother. Like the
Robertson, I have been figuring that the Hayward is a last name that was
used as his middle name. I have been trying to trace Haywards in order
to try and prove some link. I have noticed that a lot of Haywards,
Wainwrights and Robertsons have roots in Massachusetts.

Do you know anything about HAYWARDs in the Wicomico area. Also, do you
have any idea why he might have been buried in this Wainwright
graveyard?

I enjoy your web site and have sent several Wainwright researchers
there as well. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
