I am trying to locate connections to the following family.

Descendants of Francis Ellis

Generation No. 1

1. FRANCIS1 ELLIS was born Abt 1715 in Somerset County, Maryland, and died
in Sussex County, Delaware. He married AMEY (?) Abt 1744 in Maryland.

Children of Francis Ellis and Amey (?) are:
i.SARAH2 ELLIS, b. Abt 1745.
ii.BENJAMIN ELLIS, b. 1748, Somerset County, Maryland.
2.iii.JOSHUA ELLIS, b. 1750, Somerset County, Maryland; d. 1804, Hancock
County, GA.
iv.JESSE ELLIS, b. Abt 1752, Somerset County, Maryland.

Generation No. 2

2. JOSHUA2 ELLIS (FRANCIS 1) was born 1750 in Somerset County, Maryland, and
died 1804 in Hancock County, GA. He married ABIGAIL KNOWLES 1770 in Sussex
County, Delaware, daughter of Richard Knowles.

Children of Joshua Ellis and Abigail Knowles are:
3.i.STEPHEN3 ELLIS, b. 1770, Somerset County, Maryland; d. November 1856,
Coosa County, AL.
ii.JAMES ELLIS, b. Abt 1773; d. Abt 1853.
iii.SARAH ELLIS, b. 1778; d. 1859; m. (?) MATLOCK.
iv.JOSHUA ELLIS, b. 1785, Somerset County, Maryland; d. (possibly GA); m.
BARSHEBA WALKER, September 20, 1820.
v.ELISHA ELLIS, b. Abt 1786.

Generation No. 3

3. STEPHEN3 ELLIS (JOSHUA 2, FRANCIS 1) was born 1770 in Somerset County,
Maryland, and died November 1856 in Coosa County, AL. He married (1)
TEMPERANCE ELLIS Abt 1804 in Hancock County, GA, daughter of Joseph Ellis and
Esther (?). He married (2) ELIZABETH BUFFINGTON March 08, 1841.

Stephen Ellis' death was recorded in the family bible of Fredis Aldridge
Ellis.

Children of Stephen Ellis and Temperance Ellis are:
i.GEORGE M.4 ELLIS, b. 1805, Hancock Co, Georgia; d. 1860, Smith County,
TX; m. FRANCES SIMMONS, February 28, 1828, Pike County, GA.
ii.WILLIAM GREEN ELLIS, b. 1808; d. Abt 1865.
iii.FREDIS ALDRIDGE ELLIS, b. August 09, 1819; d. September 25, 1876.
iv.NANCY ELLIS, b. 1818; d. 1869; m. HARTFORD GREENE, July 30, 1833, Pike
Co, GA.

George M ELLIS moved his family to TX and most of his children lived in the
Smith County/ Henderson County area. I would definitely appreciate any data
that you might have on this family or it's ancestors.
