… THOMAS SKINNER d. 10 February 1675 One of the Gentlemen
Justices of Dorchester County, Maryland. Thomas came into the
Maryland Colony from the Colony of Virginia, prior to 20 October
1669, on that date he proved his right to 150 acres of
land for transportation, of Elizabeth, his wife, John, his son
and William Merchant, his servant, from Virginia. He was
commissioned Gentleman Justice, 16th October, 1671, and also
served in the same capacity in 1674 and 1675. He married
Elizabeth (Surname unknown), who married Henry Beckwith after his
death. He was the father of four children by Elizabeth.

2. Mary Skinner, the daughter of Thomas Skinner and Elizabeth
(Skinner), was born in 1667 at Dorchester County, Maryland.
She married Moses LeCompte, and they had ten children. Mary died
at Dorchester County, Maryland. She was buried at
Dorchester County, Maryland.

i. Philip LeCompte was born in 1688 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. Philip died in 1734 at Dorchester County,
Maryland. He was buried in 1734 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. Philip never married; said to have been
blind
ii. Moses LeCompte was born in 1690 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. He married Levinia Pattison (Driver) in 1704
at Dorchester County, Maryland, and they had four
children. Moses died at Dorchester County, Maryland. He
was buried at Dorchester County, Maryland. Moses
went blind.
MOSES LeCOMPTE b. Circa 1690 Moses is the son
of Moses LeCompte and Mary Skinner. Moses the second
became blind as he reaches his twenties, just as
blindness came on his father. He executes a deed with his
wife, giving to "our loving son Matthew Driver,"
one half of the "Grove," on James Island (Dorch. Co. Deeds,
VIII. 429). He also gave a deed of gift, on 8 March
1768, for " natural love and affection which I have and
do bear to my three grandsons Levin Cator, William
Geoghegan and Moses Geoghegan," as follows; "unto my
grandson Levin Cator, one half of the whole survey
of "LeCompte's Addition" (34 1/2 acres) on James Island,
in Dorchester County : unto my two grandsons
William and Moses Geohegan the eastern-most half of "LeCompte's
Addition," equally, and my part of "Grove," (75
acres) lying on James Island, Dorchester County." He also
refers to his daughter Levinia Geoghegan (Dorch.
Co. Land Records, XXII.222). He wed Levinia Pattison,
Daughter of Thomas Pattison (widow of Matthew
Driver, of James Island). He fathered four children.
iii. Thomas LeCompte was born in 1692 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. Thomas died at Dorchester County, Maryland.
He was buried at Dorchester County, Maryland.
Thomas went blind. Also never married.
iv. Peter Lecompte was born in 1694 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. He married, first, Elizabeth Brannock in
1719 at Dorchester County, Maryland, and they had
four children. He married, second, Elizabeth Abbott on
2-Jul-1730 at Dorchester County, Maryland, and they
had no children. He married, third, Rachel Stapleford on
5-Sep-1733 at Dorchester County, Maryland, and they
had no children. Peter died at Dorchester County,
Maryland. He was buried at Dorchester County,
Maryland.
v. Samuel LeCompte was born in 1696 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. Samuel died in 1775 at Dorchester County,
Maryland. He was buried in 1775 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. Samuel died unmarried. was blind
vi. Joseph Lecompte was born in 1698 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. He married (Widow) Shannon in 1724 at
Dorchester County, Maryland, and they had four
children. Joseph died in 1776 at Dorchester County, Maryland.

viii. Esther LeCompte was born in 1704 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. Esther died at Dorchester County, Maryland.
She was buried at Dorchester County, Maryland.
Esther died unmarried, was blind
ix. Mary LeCompte was born in 1706 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. She married Arthur Rigby, and they had no
children. Mary died at Talbot County, Maryland. She
was buried at Talbot County, Maryland. Mary went blind.
However she did marry Arthur Rigby, of Talbot
County, MD.
x. Elizabeth LeCompte was born in 1706 at Dorchester
County, Maryland. She married James Sewers, and they had
no children. Elizabeth died at Dorchester County,
Maryland. She was buried at Dorchester County, Maryland.
Elizabeth went blind, married James Sewers of
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

3. Thomas Skinner Jr., the son of Thomas Skinner and Elizabeth
(Skinner), was born at Dorchester County, Maryland. He
married Mary (Skinner), and they had four children. Thomas died
in 1707 at Talbot County, Maryland. He was buried in 1707
at Talbot County, Maryland.

Thomas went to Talbot County, Maryland from Dorchester County,
Maryland prior to 1678. Married Mary (Surname Unknown). He
was the father of four,... children.

married Esther (Hester) LeCompte in 1695 at Talbot County,
Maryland, and they had one child. William died on 24-May-1744
at Talbot County, Maryland. He was buried on 27-May-1744? at
Talbot County, Maryland.

WILLIAM SKINNER b. Circa 1669, d. 24 May 1744 Gentleman, of
Broad Creek, Talbot County, Maryland died intestate prior
to 24 May 1744. He was made a Justice of the Peace on 18
September 1718. William married firstly, Hester LeCompte (Fox)
about 1695. She was the daughter of Anthony and Hester (Dottando)
LeCompte, original settlers of Dorchester County,
Maryland. She had one child by William. After her death, William
married Elizabeth Colston, widow of James Colston of
Talbot County. William was the third son of Thomas Skinner,
original settler to the Virginia Colony.

County, Maryland. He married Sarah (Skinner), and they had
three children. William died in 1743 at Talbot
County, Maryland. He was buried in 1743 at Talbot County,
Maryland.
