Don - I have been researching the Thompsons' of Kent Island for about a
year now and have considerable information on what appears to be two
distinct lines of Thompsons. At least one researcher has tied them
together about 1850, but I am not yet convinced. In this research I have
compiled some information on Richard Thompson, Claiborne's cousin who
apparently was his lieutenant and also on Anthony Thompson of Dorchester
County. If you could provide me your mailing address I could provide
copies of this material. You'll have to wait a couple of weeks though -
I'm tied up for about two weeks.

Where I'm stuck is at John Thompson, who moved from Dorchester County to
Kent Island (QA Co) in 1850 with two sons, Alexander and Thomas. I am from
the Alexander Thompson (Alec) line. Any info here ??????
