Don't forget also the "Calendar of Maryland [Colonial?] Wills" which runs
through about 1776 - I can't recall the author but I've consulted it
frequently in the Washington College Library... I could find it in the
dark, I'm sure!

It's very good in that the abstracts seem more detailed or complete than in
other indexes.

Another place where wills are mentioned frequently is Dryden's Worcester
County Land Records 1666-1810. The only copy I've seen is located in the
Nabb Ctr at Salibury State, so I don't know how easily you can get ahold of
this one. With this volume it helps to know the name of the tract of land,
since it's alphabetized by tract, eg., "Carey's Hope" and "Fassitt's Last
Purchase" and so on.

In it you will see items like "1734 Capt Wm Fassitt willed 100 ac to son
William" so it helps establish both relationships and dates, and the fact
that a will exists in a record somewhere.
