Am trying to find other researchers to help sort out the families named above.
I think they are all one and the same, but need help trying to try to relate
them. Here's what little I have:

>From "MD Flying Camp, 1776, Enrollment Lists," abstracted by Leslie and Neil
Keddie; Easton, MD: Waldo (Woof!) Books [http://www.bluecrab.org/famtree];
1998:

page 13- "Charles County, WILLIAM WHITELY, from "A list of men enrolled by
Lt. John Forbes. Passed By J. Hawkins on July 18, 1776."

page 29- "Frederick County, upper district-Washington Co., JAMES WEAKLEY, A
list of men enrolled by 1st Clement Hollyday. Passed by Col. William Luckett
on Aug. 8, 1776."

>From "Muster Roll of the Battalion of Regular Troops in the Service of the
Province of MD," abstracted by Leslie and Neil Keddie, Easton MD: Waldo
(Woof!) Books; 1998:

page 1-"Smallwood's Troops, 1st Company stationed at Annapolis:
Rank-Private, Date Enlisted Jan. 24, 1776, WILLIAM WHEATLY, Status-Present
page 2-"Smallwood's Troops, 1st Company stationed at Annapolis:
Rank-Private, Date Enlisted Jan. 24, 1776, SAMUEL WHEATLEY, Status-Present

>From "Musters of MD Troops in the Revolution: The Maryland Line, First
Regiment,"
abstracted by Leslie and Neil Keddie, Easton MD: Waldo (Woof!) Books; 1998:
page 19-"WHEATLEY, SAMUEL, Rank-Pvt., Enl. Dec.10, 1776, Disch. Aug. 22,
1777, Remarks- Prisoner of war."
page 19-"WHEATLEY, WILLIAM, Rank-Cpl., Enl. Dec.10, 1776, Disch. June 28,
1778, Remarks-Killed."
