Or how it ought to be done.

types of people. Beginners, to experienced genealogists. I just cannot
fathom the concept of NOT sharing everything I might know about a persons
possible ancestors if I thought it would help them.

that's better than none.

several of us) has have just compiled a book on the first 5 generations of
LITTLETONS in VA, MD, DE, NC, SC that are NOT descended from Col Nathaniel
Littleton. Extracts from this work were freely sent to my subscribers if
they could use parts of it, even while the gentleman was working on it. He
had no hesitation at sharing his exhaustive research. His intention was
never to 'publish' a book. But it is such a valuable piece of research that
we have convinced him to put it together in a form that could be used by
others. He has just had it printed and will be distributing it to genealogy
libraries, etc. He has also graciously offered it to anyone to purchase for
the cost of printing and postage. Now this is how it's done.
