>Does anyone on the list know some general information about why a family
with
several family groups living in Dorchester Co., MD in 1710-1760 might sell
off all its land holdings (which seem considerable) and move into Kent Co.,
DE, not too far away? Were there religious or political reasons at the
time
which prompted this type of move?
Carolyn
Remember that the time period prior to 1776 (and I am not Quite
sure of the date) Much of Lower DE was part of Maryland. For Example
Seaford, Sussex County Delaware was in Dorchester, MD while Blades across
the Nanticoke was in Sommerset Co. MD. Dorchester did go north as far as
Greenwood but I am not clear how far past.
