Hi Craig,
I have just spent a very interesting evening out west, Bellingham Washington
State, going over the wealth of information you have provided us on your
Fasitt Webb page.
I am a descendant of William Purnell b. 1520 Stancombe Manor, Dursley,
Gloucestshire, England (which I visited this year) who was a distant
grandfather of Thomas (emigrant) Purnell who arrived in Maryland in 1635 on
the ship George. I only learned of this connection six days before I left on
an around the world trip which with revisions included Stancombe Manor. I
hope to in the next year or two visit Maryland and its wealth of Purnell
history.
My records, in the research stage, indicate the Purnell's and Fassitt were
connected through the marriages of Eleanor Purnell b. Abt. 1773 daughter of
Walton Purnell who married John Fassitt; Mary Selby Purnell b. 1783 daughter
of William Purnell m. 1813 Thomas Simpson Fassitt; William Purnell b.1729
m. abt 1749 Elsa Fassitt ( I have a lot of their descendants I will share);
and lastly on my data bank Jeptha Purnell, b. abt 1738 son of Matthew
Purnell, who m. Mary Fassitt. I don't have a lot on any descendants with
exception of William and Elsa whose descendants migrated to Fleming County
Kentucky where my ancestors also migrated after which they migrated to
Indiana, Illinois, Kansas then to Bellingham on the Pacific Coast.
